A partir de 2008 serão vendidos cartões pré-pagos para que o cliente acumule créditos virtuais e possa adquirir games, atualizações e softwares na rede do PS3. Antes, apenas quem tem cartão de crédito podia comprar na loja virtual.
Segundo o site Playstation.com.br, o cartão será similar aos pré-pagos de celulares bastando colocar o número no local indicado, na rede, e seus créditos serão automaticamente computados.
Os cartões já estão em fase de teste no Japão e custam 3 mil ienes (US$ 26) e cinco mil ienes (US$ 44). Pra estas bandas, segundo a Sony, o PlayStation Network Card deve estar disponível no começo de 2008.
